Mini games are for the five minutes you have between other things — a short round, a quick decision, done.
Kinds of mini games
| Type | Idea |
|---|---|
| Multiplier games | A number climbs; stop before it ends |
| Step games | Move forward step by step and stop when you like |
| Pick games | Choose tiles or cards and see what’s underneath |
The one skill
In most mini games the only real decision is when to stop. Decide that before the round starts — “I’ll stop at 2×” — and stick to it. It makes the game more fun, not less.
A worked example
Say you play a multiplier game with 100 coins and decide beforehand to stop at 2×. Some rounds you’ll stop at 2× and collect 200 coins. Some rounds the multiplier will end at 1.4× before you get there and the 100 coins are gone. Over a few rounds that evens out to something close to where you started — which is the point. It’s a game of nerve, not a way to multiply coins forever.
| Stop point | What happens |
|---|---|
| Low target (1.5×) | Wins more often, smaller amounts |
| High target (5×) | Wins rarely, bigger amounts |
